There's no better feeling than stepping on the scale and seeing that you've lost a couple pounds since you last checked, and there's no bigger disappointment than stepping on the scale and realizing that you didn't, or worse, that you've actually gained a couple of pounds!

But is it possible that the only difference between those two results is the time of day that you weighed yourself?

Yes it is!

The best time to weigh yourself to get the most accurate and holistic view of your bodyweight is in the morning after you've just gotten up and used the restroom. Because you naturally fast about 10-12 hours each night when you sleep, your body spends most of that time breaking down and digesting the food that you've eaten the night before. That way, after you go to the bathroom, that magic number you see on the scale is reflecting your actual bodyweight as accurately as possible.
