Not only is this low sugar strawberry jam recipe healthier, it's also much more frugal without pectin from the store and loads of sugar.


  • 2 cups strawberries (tops removed) – divided

  • 1 cup peeled apples (optional)

  • 1/4 cup lemon juice  

  • 3-6 drops liquid stevia 

  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds

  • Water as needed


Step 1: Place strawberries and apple in blender with water, lemon juice, stevia and chia seeds. Blend on medium to high speed until preferred jam consistency is obtained. Add water 1 Tbsp at a time as needed to get things moving.

Step 2: Pour the contents of your blender into a small saucepan heat over medium heat until the jam begins to bubble. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the jam starts to thicken.

Step 3: Remove from heat and immediately pour into a mason jar. Allow to cool completely and then store in the fridge.
