Our bodies are constantly telling us what they need.

A dry mouth indicates that we may be thirsty. A yawn lets us know we need a little more sleep.

When it comes to needing certain nutrients our bodies' signals can be harder to pin down.

The list below points out some common signs that your nutrition may be missing something...

Symptom: Fatigue, Dark Circles Under Eyes

Possible Cause: Iron Deficiency

Iron produces a protein (hemoglobin) that allows our red blood cells to deliver oxygen through our bodies.

To help with this try adding:

  • Red meat

  • Beans

  • Spinach

  • Nuts

  • Broccoli

  • Dates

Symptoms: Fatigue, hair loss, and chipped nails:

Possible Cause: B12 Deficiency

Vitamin B12 is a nutrient that our body can't produce. We need to get it from our diet, and there are several disorders that can interfere with our bodies' ability to absorb it.

If you think you need a B12 boost try:

  • Fish

  • Beef

  • Chicken

  • Eggs

  • Milk (almond, soy, or coconut work!)

Symptom: Mood change and muscle weakness

Possible Cause: Low Vitamin D

Vitamin D is known as the "Sunshine Vitamin" because our skin converts sunshine into Vitamin D. It is incredibly important for maintaining healthy bones.

You can get more Vitamin D by:

  • Sitting in the sun

  • Fish

  • Beef

  • Cottage cheese

  • Eggs.

  • Many food products, like orange juice, cereal, and soy products, are fortified with Vitamin D.

Symptoms: Muscle cramps, headaches, and anxiety

Possible Cause: Low Magnesium

Magnesium supports healthy metabolism, muscles and nerve function.

It is estimated that 80% of Americans suffer from magnesium deficiency.

But don't worry because you can easily sneak in some magnesium with:

  • Spinach (let Popeye be your role model!)

  • Nuts

  • Fish

  • Beans

  • Whole grains

  • Avocados.

Symptom: Muscle cramps, weak nails, and dry skin:

Possible Cause: Calcium Deficiency

Calcium is vital for healthy bones and strong teeth. If your body is in need of more calcium one of the first signs is muscle cramps.

If you notice this or other possible signs, reach for one of the foods below:

  • Fish

  • Cheese

  • Yogurt

  • Almonds

  • Broccoli

  • Kale

Sometimes our bodies may need a little extra help, especially in the case of nutrient deficiencies.

If you're experiencing signs and symptoms like those above, it may be helpful to try a high-quality supplement.

Betr's Daily Essentials are designed to fill in potential nutritional gaps and maximize our body's ability to function.

They contain no fillers, are 100% plant-based, and are processed in facilities that meet or exceed “Good Manufacturing Practice” (GMP) standards.

Using food as medicine is an amazing way to heal. Following the Betr protocol will help fill in any gaps that may cause symptoms.

It also helps you get in touch with your body so you can give it what you need BEFORE it causes signs of nutrient deficiencies
