Understanding Dairy in Level 1

The Level 1 Program is designed to help you lose weight and get on track with your goals. Many clients have found success in this program – but it’s important to know what foods you’ll be eating. One common food group that is avoided during Level 1 is dairy.

Dairy can often create digestive upset for some clients, as well as an increase on the scale, which is why we leave out most dairy during Level 1. You may have yogurt or non-dairy creamer on occasion, but likely you’ll be avoiding milk, cheese, ice cream, and the like.

If you have an allergy or intolerance to dairy or any other food, be sure to discuss it with your program mentor so you’ll know what to do while on the Level 1 Program and be prepared for Level 2. We don’t want you feeling deprived – just supported!

Keep in mind that you’ll be able to add back dairy as you move through the Levels of the program. Dairy is a good source of protein, calcium, and other essential vitamins, so it’s good to work it into your meals in a healthy manner.

Overall, the Level 1 Program is designed to give you the foundation to reach your goal – including the removal of some food groups. Dairy is one of them, and it’s important to know the reasons behind that decision in order to get the best results.
