Enzyme Digestion: The Benefits of Eating Different Foods Every Day

Eating different types of foods daily can have a range of beneficial effects on your enzyme digestion, and your health in general. Your body uses different enzymes to break down carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, which helps you absorb delicate nutrients and vital vitamins, and carry out vital functions.

Eating a variety of food will ensure that your body has the best chance of using a selection of quality enzymes, that it needs to optimally break down your meals. It will also ensure a variety of different nutrients and vitamins so that you can benefit from a balance of minerals, proteins, and carbohydrates.

However, to ensure that you are harvesting these benefits, there are a few things you should know. It is important to ensure that the meats and meat products that you are eating are sourced from animals that have been grass-fed and are free from added hormones, and antibiotics. Eating foods that have been injected with hormones and antibiotics can increase the toxic burden on your body.

Keep your body on its toes!

Your body uses different enzymes to digest different foods so rotating all foods daily ensures optimum results. It also helps you from getting bored with limited food choices.

Enjoy a variety of wild-caught fish, from their natural environment, instead of farm-raised which are usually kept in pens that are often submerged in ponds, lakes, and saltwater. Choose grass-fed, hormone, and antibiotic-free meats to ensure you are not adding more toxins into your body.

Numerous vegetarian and vegan proteins can be used to add variety to your weekly meals! Some include:

  • Hemp seeds

  • Chia seeds

  • Quinoa

  • Spirulina

  • Raw-shelled organic edamame

  • Egg whites

  • Organic cottage cheese

Protein Rotation

Please have 1 protein per meal & don’t have the same protein more than once per day:

  • Red meat can be had at most once every other day. Some must cut it back to once or twice per week for good results.

  • Chicken, shellfish, & whitefish can be had at most 2 days in a row but not 3

  • Eggs can be had at most once a day every day.

  • Cottage cheese, quinoa, edamame, tofu, lentils, chickpeas, tempeh, & mung beans each can be had at most three times per week or every other day.
