Keep In Mind

A healthy diet is key to maintaining physical and mental well-being. It is important to have a good understanding of the nutrition facts of what you are consuming to best take care of your body. Here is what to keep in mind when reading a nutrition label:

  • It is important to analyze the ingredients themselves in a food product. If there is a lengthy list of ingredients that you've never heard of, it's best to stay away.

  • The %DV is the percent of the total amount of that specific nutrient you should consume in a day.

  • Know where your nutrients are coming from. For example, look for foods that are low in saturated or trans fats and contain more polyunsaturated and monosaturated fats, which are good fats to consume.

By examining the nutrition label closely and considering what is best for your body, you will be able to make informed decisions about the food you consume. Your body will thank you for the nutritious meals.
