Understanding Systemic Candida and its Impact on Weight Loss

Candida is a form of fungal yeast that lives inside the body. A healthy body keeps Candida under control through beneficial bacteria that inhibit its growth. Unfortunately, antibiotic use, past or present, kills all of the good bacteria along with the bad, allowing Candida to become systemic spreading throughout the whole body. Stress, junk foods, medications, or a weakened immune system also set the stage for yeast overgrowth.

What happens when Candida becomes systemic?

When Candida becomes systemic, it can wreak havoc on the body's natural balance. This upset of the body's natural balance can result in a number of negative physical and emotional symptoms. For example, it can lead to hormonal imbalances, fatigue, mood swings, and headaches. In addition, it can cause difficulty in losing weight, even with diet and lifestyle changes.

How can I tell if I have systemic Candida?

If you have difficulty losing weight despite making healthy lifestyle changes, it is possible that you have systemic Candida. Other common symptoms include cravings for sugary or carb-heavy foods and difficulty concentrating.

What should I do if I think I have systemic Candida?

If you suspect that you have systemic Candida, the best way to confirm your suspicion is to take a home Candida test. All of this plays a major factor in a person's inability to lose and maintain weight loss. If you still crave sugar and carbohydrates after a few weeks of level 1 we suggest that you take the following easy home Candida test.

Candida Spit Test:

Perform the spit test first thing in the morning, before drinking fluids or brushing your teeth. Work up some saliva and spit it into a clear glass of about 4oz of water. Set your timer for 30 minutes, look in the glass.

  1. Is your saliva stringy? Positive for Candida.

  2. Is the water cloudy? Positive for Candida.

  3. Did your saliva sink to the bottom? Positive for Candida.

  4. Did your saliva float or disappear in the water? Negative for Candida.

Where can I find a home Candida test?

Home Candida tests are available from many online retailers. It is also recommended to talk to your doctor or nutritionist to decide if this is an appropriate test for your condition. With the right solution, you can regain your health and your desired weight.

Treating a Positive Candida Test Result

If you test positive, take our Daily Essentials Supplements and add in any of these:

  • Kimchi

  • Sauerkraut

  • Shot of apple cider vinegar daily (Braggs style, unfiltered)

  • Fresh garlic

  • Probiotics

After two weeks, you can add in kefir daily (3-4oz), if you can tolerate dairy. The goal of this 3-week protocol is to improve and recalibrate the microbiome environment and support the body as it reestablishes balance.
